Dawa Sherpa joins Matterhorn Ultraks

Dawa Sherpa joins Matterhorn Ultraks

Dawa Sherpa, living legend of the trail world, winner of the very first UTMB, joins Laetitia Roux and Martin Anthamatten as Ambassador of the Trail event of the Matterhorn Ultraks.

For Dawa, the sport of Trail is about nature and encounters, two key elements he recognises in Matterhorn Ultraks.

« After spending significant time with the organisers » says Dawa Sherpa, « I was seduced by the concept of the event. If I doubt I’ll enter the SkiTouring race, I will definitely be in Zermatt for the Trail, as, after having ran all over the world, I very much want to discover the mythic area surrounding the Matterhorn. I also find the course attractive, very varied and with a lot of single track. Thanks to the three courses of different lengths, the race is open to the largest number of competitors and to the families, which is important to me.”

And Laetitia Roux to add:“Am delighted to learn that Dawa joins the Matterhorn Ultraks’ group. Dawa is synonymous with generosity and sharing. Everyone who’ll be in Zermatt, runners and spectators, will benefit of his presence… me to start with!”

During the months preceding the event, Dawa Sherpa will share its wealth of experience and provide advices on www.ultraks.comto help future competitors to hit the starting line on August 24, 2013 in the best possible shape.
