The "46K" chosen by ISF to be part of the Skyrunner® World Series

The International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) revealed today the race calendar for 2013, putting the Matterhorn Ultraks under the spotlights. 

Indeed, for its very first edition, the longest of the three Trail courses of the Matterhorn Ultraks, i.e. the "46K" has been chosen by ISF to be part of the "SkyRace" 2013 Skyrunner® World Series, made of five races:

1. SPAIN: Maratòn Alpina Zegama-Aizkorri - 42k, Zegama- May 26
2. FRANCE: Mont-Blanc Marathon - 42k, Chamonix - June 30
3. USA: Pikes Peak Marathon, Colorado - 42k - August 18
4.SWITZERLAND: Matterhorn Ultraks - 46k, Zermatt - August 24 
5. ITALY: Skyrunning Xtreme - 23k, Limone sul Garda - October 13

Skyrunning is the symbol of mountain trail and is made of three categories: Sky, Ultra and Vertical. Each categorie contributes to five stages of the circuit that will receive a prize-money of 25'000 USD on top of the prizes of fered ny individual races. 

SkyRaces, category to which belongs the "46K", are ran on course of more than 22 km and less than 50 km long with at least 1,300m positive vertical climb.
